Things to do around Kentucky Lake

In addition to water and wildlife, the area around Kentucky Lake offers golfing, hiking, biking, hunting, shopping, museums, and water parks.

Discover Land Between the Lakes, a 170,000-acre inland peninsula formed between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. This national land recreation area has more than 200 miles of scenic trails and offers numerous activities including mountain biking, camping, off road vehicles, horse back riding, and of course incredible hiking options.

The Land Between the Lakes area is home to more than 54 different kinds of mammals and 230 species of birds. Wildlife viewing trips by car, boat, canoe, bike, or on foot are available in Land Between the Lakes and offer great opportunities to see native wildlife.

Additional area attractions include the Blue Creek Nature Center, a 42-acre area ideal for hiking, bicycling, and ATV riding; Johnsonville State Historic Park, a 550-acre park overlooking a Civil War battlefield that offers fishing on the Tennessee River, hiking trails, and more; and the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge, which is home to native wildlife, wintering waterfowl, and other migratory birds.
